Four Training Modules

Los Alamos National Laboratory has produced four training modules that demonstrate the safety walkaround process. David Herbert, a Senior Fellow with the National Safety Council, models and describes the process in three different work environments.

As described by Dave Herbert: Walkarounds give us an opportunity to help one another, to make one another's operations as safe as they can be, and to help one another avoid injury. It's the best opportunity I know of where a manager and an employee can engage together, thinking about the employee's work processes and how to make them better, so that no one is ever injured. It is a key vehicle to helping people help one another stay safe and avoid injury.
